About Marietta

Marietta was the first and still only AAABA franchise from Georiga. In their inaugural 1990 season, they were runners-up at the Zanesville Regional and did not qualify for the tournament. After losing 3-2 to Livonia on the first day of play, the Georgians won 9-1 over host Zanesville and then 7-2 over Livonia. In the semi-finals, they eliminated Philadelphia, but fell 9-3 to Washington in the championship match.

The 1991 club had a direct bid to Johnstown.  Manager Jeff Guy's East Cobb Astros drew New Orleans in the opening round and lose 7-3 at Roxbury. The Astros eliminated Altoona 6-3 at Point Stadium to stay alive and then upset Brooklyn 8-3 at Vo-Tech. Their final game was on Thursday at Conemaugh Valley High School where they were knocked out in only 7 innings by New Brunswick, 15-15.
