About Fort Wayne

After failing to advance from the 1967 Altoona regional, Fort Wayne got their first taste of the national tournament in 1968. Paul Judy's Merchant squad finished in 8th place with wins over Elmira (7-6) and Pittsburgh (12-8). The following year, Norman Kramer's City Light team won 5-4 over New York in what would prove to be the franchise's final win in Johnstown. Fort Wayne dropped 12 straight decisions over 6 years, as well as 8 more consecutive loses at regionals.

The 1970 City Light team was undefeated at the Zanesville regional, with wins over Pittsburgh (3-1) and Zanesville (5-2, 3-1).
